If you want to make a donation, cash, money order, or check are still the easiest and most straightforward methods. If you choose to donate by check or money order, please make it payable to SWFHR or South West Florida Horse Rescue. On the memo line, write "Donation" or provide any other specific instructions, such as "Donation to 'said Horse'".

For cash donations, we do not recommend sending them by mail. Instead, you can bring them directly to us or send them through a secure channel.

PayPal offers a program called the PayPal Giving Fund (PPGF) which does not take any percentage away from your donation. That’s right, the full amount of your donation makes it to us.

Donations made through credit or debit cards can be processed in various ways. Our primary processor for these types of donations is usually PayPal. However, we also have accounts with other processing parties such as Stripe, Venmo, and Gpay.

Online donations are usually made through a processor that is connected back to SWFHR. Most of these processors charge a processing fee, which ranges from 2-7% of your donation. However, there are only a few platforms that absorb the processing fees, allowing the charity to receive 100% of your donation. These platforms are PayPal Giving Fund, Facebook (now joined with PayPal Giving Fund), and Givebutter (through Stripe). The donor has the option to absorb the fees when using Givebutter.

Alternatively, you can call (239) 567-4111 to make a credit or debit donation over the phone for a 3% fee. We will require your legal name, address assigned to your card, card number, and CVC code (on the back of your card).

Donating through a horse’s Wish List is a meaningful way to help - by purchasing specific items for a favorite horse’s unique care needs, or by providing everyday essentials that support the entire herd.

Collecting recyclable drink cans has been a steadfast way to earn funds for the horse and improve the cleanliness of our local environment. Through our ‘Recycle For Rescues‘ campaign, we make monthly trips to the recycling plant to scrap, mainly aluminum beverage cans.
