Shadow was rescued in December 2015 from a local farm, where the owner had fallen on hard times and was no longer able to care for their horses. We were able to take two (2) of the five (5) Mini’s, both intact.

Shadow’s recovery began when he came to SWFHR, fully vetted, brought UTD on coggins/vaccines, farrier and his gelding procedure was scheduled.

We were concerned about his hind end, he seemed to have trouble walking so we contacted a specialist for a complete exam. According to Dr. Roberts, Shadow was born with a birth defect that prevented him from moving around like a normal little horse. He is in no pain from this and he will be able to live a perfectly normal life.

This year, 2016, Shadow is doing better, day by day. His skin condition has almost completely cleared up and he is learning to trust humans. Shadow is looking for his forever family.
