Phoenix

Phoenix arrived at South West Florida Horse Rescue, Inc. with his dad, Max, and his brother, Chance, in January 2021. All three were feral, intact, and terrified. They needed a safe and nurturing environment to begin their recovery journey, and we were happy to welcome them to SWFHR.

Everything we did with these boys was in baby steps; we never rushed them. We allowed them to be horses while also teaching them basic things they had never experienced before. Phoenix was only 18 months old when he came to SWFHR—just a baby, with no prior human interaction. It has truly been a team effort to get Phoenix to this level, thanks to the amazing volunteers who each played a part in his rehabilitation.
